Orpheus Musical Theatre is excited to announce its production of the Tony Award winning musical FALSETTOS coming to The Gladstone Theatre September 4 to 7.
Ottawa – August 27, 2019
Ottawa musical theatre fans know Orpheus for big, extravagant crowd-pleasers like Mamma Mia, Grease, Sister Act, Shrek and many others that have elicited glowing reviews from fans and critics time after time. This September, Orpheus will treat its audiences to a more intimate performance at the elegant Gladstone Theatre. (Sorry Ottawa, there are only 1,150 tickets available for this one.) Written by composer and lyricist William Finn, Falsettos is the hilarious and heartfelt story of a Jewish husband and father, who leaves his family to live with another man. When it premiered on Broadway in 1992, Falsettos was nominated for seven Tony awards, and won two of them including Best Original Score. Ottawa theatre lovers won’t want to miss this chance to see local artists including Joseph Stone, Andréa Black, Jerusha Lewis, Adam Moscoe, and young Cooper Dunn as they bring Finn’s story to life on The Gladstone Theatre stage.
Orpheus Musical Theatre has been bringing live musical performances to Ottawa audiences since 1906. Orpheus takes pride in producing professional quality musical theatre while fostering the development of local amateur talent. The fall production of Falsettos kicks off a spectacular 2019-2020 season, which will also feature our main-stage shows: Matilda (November), Rock of Ages (March), and A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder (June).
