Show Information

LEGALLY BLONDE The Musical is a fun, energetic, silly, poignant comedy based on the novel Legally Blonde by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon. It tells the story of Elle Woods, a sorority girl who enrolls at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner. Through the course of the show, she discovers a lot about herself, and proves her capabilities all the while staying true to herself.

LEGALLY BLONDE opened on Broadway in April 2007. Jerry Mitchell directed and choreographed. The original cast included Laura Bell Bundy as Elle Woods, Christian Borle as Emmett Forrest and Richard H. Blake as Warner. It received seven Tony nominations and ten Drama Desk nominations. The West End production opened in January 2010 at the Savoy Theatre and was nominated for five Laurence Olivier Awards and won three, including Best New Musical. The musical was recorded in September 2007 and aired on MTV in October 2007. The MTV version can be viewed in full on YouTube.
